LSU: THE WHINING UNIVERSITY

March 2, 2016

LSU is whining again.

The university has been in the news constantly since the beginning of the year.  Every news report has dutifully echoed the LSU administration’s laments about how the university will have to shut down, eliminate classes, fire professors and burn down the university for the insurance money.  Okay, maybe it just seemed to me like they were threatening to burn the buildings down.  That is how loud their lamentations were.

Then a new governor got elected.  The first thing the governor did was conduct a presidential ‘oval office’ type broadcast to Louisiana residents.   Nobody watched, but the media went absolutely nuts about it.

All at once news reporters were in a frenzy, waving their collective arms in panic as the higher education system teetered on the brink of destruction.

Oh, no!  Universities will have to close early this year because they won’t have the money to continue to pay the instructors and professors!   Football at LSU will come to a halt!  No football games! Yes, the governor had actually said that football would have to be canceled.   Right.  The governor has a better chance of facing a recall than people in Louisiana going without their football.

Just last night, the self-proclaimed THE INVESTIGATORS on one of the TV stations in Baton Rouge ran a promo about a series of reports about LSU’s neglect of its buildings on campus and how when it rains in Baton Rouge, which is all the time, it also rains inside a lot of the buildings on LSU’s campus.

Oh, really?  Well, if that’s the case, some heads need to roll, starting with the LSU president’s head.   That, my friends, would fall under the heading of GROSS MISMANAGEMENT OF FUNDS.   Period.  End of discussion.

I am tired of the LSU WHINERS.   Get your act together, LSU.   Quit your bitching.
